NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The “MongoDB World Startup Showcase” is sponsored MongoDB (“Sponsor”). This contest is governed by these official rules (“Official Rules”). By participating in the contest, each entrant agrees to abide by these Official Rules, including all eligibility requirements, and understands that the results of the contest, as determined by Sponsor and its agents, are final in all respects. The contest is subject to all federal, state and local laws and regulations and is void where prohibited by law.

ELIGIBILITY The contest is open to legal residents of their respective countries where not prohibited by law, who are eighteen (18) years of age or older at the time of entry who have Internet access and a valid e-mail account prior to the beginning of the contest Period. Entrants must be actively building a product or service on MongoDB (consultancies are not eligible). Entrant’s company must employ less than 100 people, must have been in business five years or less, and must be privately held.

Sponsor has the right to verify the eligibility of each entrant. Limited to one entry per person. MongoDB’s employees are not eligible to enter the drawing. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received for the drawing.

SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD The contest begins February 19, 2016 and ends March 25, 2016 (“Submission Period”). Sponsor may extend or shorten the contest in its discretion.

HOW TO ENTER

  1. Complete and submit the application online.
  2. Winners will be notified of their acceptance by April 22, 2016.

WINNER SELECTION The winners will be chosen on merit by an internal committee after the Submission Period. Winners will be notified by MongoDB via email.

Contest timeline: March 25: Submission Deadline April 22: Acceptance Notification
 May 27: Presentation Review 
 June 28: Start-up Showcase

If a potential prize winner cannot be reached by the Sponsor within five (5) days of initial contact, using the contact information provided at the time of entry, that potential prize winner shall forfeit the prize. Upon the request of the Sponsor, the potential winner may be required to return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Release and Prize Acceptance Form and IRS W-9 form. If a potential winner fails to comply with these official rules, that potential winner will be disqualified.

PRIZES

  • Two complimentary tickets to MongoDB World. Travel and lodging is not included in this prize.
  • Five minute elevator pitch in the Giant Ideas Theatre at MongoDB World
  • Company will be highlighted in a keynote session at MongoDB World
  • Inclusion in MongoDB World marketing and press campaigns

  • One year complimentary subscription to Cloud Manager, backup not included.

Incidental expenses and all other costs and expenses which are not specifically listed as part of a prize in these Official Rules and which may be associated with the award, acceptance, receipt and use of all or any portion of the awarded prize are solely the responsibility of the prize winner. ALL FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL TAXES ASSOCIATED WITH THE RECEIPT OR USE OF ANY PRIZE IS SOLELY THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE WINNER.

ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS Prize is non-transferable. No substitution or cash equivalent of prizes is permitted. Sponsor may terminate, suspend or amend the Sweepstakes, without notice, and for any reason.

LEAD GENERATION, PUBLICITY, AND USE OF DATA By participating, each entrant grants Sponsor permission to use his/her name, likeness or comments for publicity purposes without payment of additional consideration, except where prohibited by law. By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants hereby agree to usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they accept the privacy policy.
