Are features in early access suitable in production?
Features in early access or preview are not recommended for production environments and do not include formal consulting, SLAs, or technical support obligations, other than the help provided by product managers within the program.
Where do I get more information?
- Once you have signed up, more information on the feature(s) you have selected will be provided via email, when available.
- Additionally, we will reach out to you to schedule a call to showcase more about the feature, before the feature(s) you selected is available for testing.
Note that we may require you to sign an NDA.
- After the call, you can confirm or decline to join the early access program for the feature in order to try it before launch.
What is an early access program?
- After you have agreed to join the early access program (EAP) to try the feature before launch, you will receive a confirmation email with onboarding instructions to get set up and ready.
- You will receive access to the private MongoDB Developers Community Forums (shared in the confirmation email), where you can post questions in a private forum and get the latest updates on the feature, such as where to access the feature and the get-started-guide documentation.
- Once the feature is available for testing, we will set up a recurring 1:1 call with you and the product manager of the feature ahead of time, to help you get set started and to regularly check in on the testing progress. This gives you the chance to ask questions and get direct support from the product manager.
What is expected of me if I join the Early Access Program of a feature?
- Before joining the program, it may be required to sign an NDA.
- Upon joining the program, we expect all participants to test the feature on real workloads within test environments and share sample data sets, where possible.
- Additionally, we expect participants to provide actional feedback on the feature, through recurring 1:1 calls with the product manager (either on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly basis) and the occasional survey.
How can I get started with testing?
Upon your confirmation in joining the program, simply follow the instructions provided in the confirmation email, where more information on the timelines for the feature is shared.
