Services Overview

During Consulting: GenAI Build Essentials, MongoDB will focus on how to build a Generative AI (GenAI) solution with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) capabilities on MongoDB Atlas. MongoDB will provide you with a team skills assessment and training workshop on GenAI with MongoDB, and work with you to carry out an in-depth assessment of your desired GenAI functionality (“use case”) to identify key requirements, application considerations, and user needs. Using the information gathered, MongoDB will provide you with a GenAI Strategy Report including recommendations on data strategy, technology, and capabilities of MongoDB, provide a demonstration of the potential implementation of the agreed use case (“solution”), and design a GenAI solution blueprint and implementation plan.

Key Activities

Alignment and Planning

MongoDB will conduct a half-day Goal Setting Workshop with you to map out your use case, identify key stakeholders, define the vision for your GenAI solution, and understand the success criteria. MongoDB will provide you with two weeks of access to the MongoDB Skill Scanner to evaluate your technical team’s proficiency in GenAI, MongoDB Atlas Vector Search, and MongoDB development, as applicable. At the end of the Alignment and Planning phase, MongoDB will discuss and agree on expected milestones, timeline, and a project plan, which sets out the goal for the engagement and measurable success criteria for your GenAI build that will be incorporated into the final GenAI Strategy Report.

Discovery and Inspection

During this phase of the engagement, MongoDB will conduct several deep-dive discovery sessions with your technical and business teams to review more detailed aspects of your use case, such as your solution requirements and features, architecture, infrastructure, datasets, and integrations. MongoDB will run a training workshop where we will enable your teams on the foundations of building GenAI applications on MongoDB Atlas, managing and querying vector data with MongoDB Atlas and MongoDB Atlas Vector Search.

Analysis, Design, and Demonstration

During this phase, MongoDB will analyze the data gathered in the previous phases, focusing on areas such as use case, application features, data model, example data sets and vectorizations, the existing technology landscape, application requirements, and search functionality.

Using this analysis, MongoDB will then compile and provide you with the following Deliverables:

• Skills Assessment Report

  • This report will summarize the results of the MongoDB Skill Scanner assessment of your team in one or more of the following areas: using MongoDB with GenAI, MongoDB Atlas as a vector database and MongoDB Atlas Vector Search, as well as recommendations for MongoDB training courses.

• GenAI Strategy Report

  • This document will summarize our findings and recommendations, including a description of the business requirements and agreed success criteria for your GenAI use case, an example data model and datasets, and our recommended retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) data strategy. This will include a blueprint for your GenAI solution with target architecture featuring the selected technical stack, a description of each GenAI solution component and their integrations. Lastly, it will provide a phased implementation plan, including an intermediate prototype step, and a specific focus on how operational and security requirements will be addressed.

• GenAI Solution Demo

  • We will provide a recorded demonstration of your potential GenAI solution using our preferred cloud environment, AI/ML platform, application framework, MongoDB Atlas, and MongoDB Atlas Vector Search.

Finally, MongoDB will conduct a review and feedback presentation with you, focusing on the key findings and the proposed solution, along with the recommended actions necessary to implement the solution.

Project Timeline, Milestones and Deliverables

Estimated Total Duration: 4 - 6 weeks

Project Close-Out

Once the Key Activities have been completed and MongoDB has delivered all Deliverables, MongoDB will conduct a Project Close-Out Meeting with you, following which we will provide you with the project completion confirmation email. You will have five (5) business days from the project completion confirmation email to notify MongoDB in writing of any Deliverables which are not reasonably accepted. If you have not done so, Consulting: GenAI Build Essentials will be deemed accepted at the expiration of this period.

MongoDB will work with you to remediate and re-submit any Deliverable which is not accepted up to a maximum of two times. You will have five (5) business days from each resubmission by MongoDB to notify MongoDB in writing of any Deliverable which is not reasonably accepted. If you have not done so, Consulting: GenAI Build Essentials will be deemed accepted at the expiration of the applicable period.

Customer Prerequisites

Before the start of the engagement:

• You will identify and communicate to MongoDB the contact details of these key stakeholders:
  • Customer Project Sponsor: The individual (often a manager or executive) with overall accountability for the project and responsible for ensuring that the project delivers the agreed business benefits.
  • Customer Project Manager: The individual who is accountable for managing the required customer-specific resources and logistics, including assisting the MongoDB Project Manager with risk mitigation and issue resolution strategies.

Other Engagement Details

• Consulting: GenAI Build Essentials is limited to a single use case, which will be selected prior to the engagement.

• Unless agreed otherwise, Consulting Services will be delivered Monday through Friday during the business hours of 9am to 5pm in the time zone of Customer’s work location, excluding holidays observed by MongoDB.

• All Consulting Services are delivered remotely.

• All Consulting Services and Deliverables will be provided in English and using MongoDB templates.

• MongoDB may use subcontractors and/or offshore resources to deliver the Consulting Services.

• You are responsible for:

  • completing tasks and providing access to the relevant personnel, data, information, and expertise needed to complete the engagement within the timelines requested by MongoDB. Failure to do so in a timely manner may impact the quality of your Deliverables;
  • designating personnel with technical access to the solution environment if required.
