sh.abortUnshardCollection()

Definition

sh.abortUnshardCollection(namespace)

Stops an in-progress unshardCollection operation.

New in version 8.0.

This method must run on the admin database.

Compatibility

This method is available in deployments hosted in the following environments:

  • MongoDB Atlas: The fully managed service for MongoDB deployments in the cloud

Important

This command is not supported in M0, M2, M5, and Flex clusters. For more information, see Unsupported Commands.

Syntax

sh.abortUnshardCollection( "<database>.<collection>" )

Specifies the database and collection to stop unsharding.

Examples

The following example stops the in-progress unsharding operation of the sales.us_accounts collection.

sh.abortUnshardCollection( "sales.us_accounts" )
