The Florianópolis MUG hosted an engaging in-person meetup on December 3, spotlighting MongoDB 8.0 and innovative uses of MiniMongo with Meteor.js. The evening featured talks by experts like Flavia and Tâmara on MongoDB advancements, and Bruno on bridging the front end and back end with MiniMongo and MongoDB.
Davi, the MUG Leader, concluded with insights into optimizing large-scale queries using Online Archive and Data Federation. Organized by Mateus, Jessica, and Lucas, the event blended learning, networking, and a lively atmosphere with food, drinks, and swag!
On December 4th, the MUG Kuala Lumpur, led by Lai Kai Yong, hosted an exclusive invite-only after-party, bringing together dedicated community members for an evening of insightful discussions and networking. Attendees, who had actively participated in past meetups, engaged in a technical talk on the MongoDB Go Driver and building REST API, followed by a valuable feedback session, reflecting on the year’s events and future improvements.

On December 5th, the London MUG, led by Abhishek, hosted an evening at the MongoDB UK Office, exploring modern app development innovations. Abhishek discussed leveraging MongoDB Change Streams for real-time, event-driven architectures, while Ben shared strategies for deploying vector-powered search to handle complex free-text queries.
The event wrapped up with networking, trivia, and great conversations.
The Hyderabad MUG, led by Chanda and Jayant, hosted an in-person event on December 7th, bringing together the community to explore MongoDB Atlas Charts and Practical Anomaly Detection at Scale with PromQL. Radhakrishnan, Director of Engineering at Grafana Labs, shared insights on scalable anomaly detection using PromQL, while Chanda demonstrated the power of MongoDB Atlas Charts for data visualization.
On December 10th, 2024, the Zürich MUG, led by Peter and Juan, successfully hosted its inaugural meetup, bringing together MongoDB enthusiasts and professionals for an exciting evening of learning and networking. The event featured discussions on MongoDB Evolution and Current Features, followed by a session on Data Modeling and Real-World Insights.
The Montréal MUG, led by Néstor, hosted its end-of-year meetup on December 12th, focusing on MongoDB’s Search Evolution – From Basic Queries to Intelligent Vector Search. Community speaker Nick shared insights on using Cloudflare Workers with MongoDB, while Joel discussed MongoDB’s search capabilities and their best use cases.
The Cairo MUG, led by Mohamed, hosted its kickoff meetup, bringing together local MongoDB enthusiasts to explore topics such as Time Series Data with MongoDB, Atlas Vector Search, and Building Secure Serverless Applications. The event featured talks by Waleed from MongoDB and Mohamed, Founder of Advizors.
The Madrid MUG, led by Andrés, successfully launched its first meetup, marking the start of an exciting community initiative. Attendees enjoyed talks by Sergio, who shared lessons from developing a core business application with MongoDB Atlas, and Gonzalo, who explored building AI agents with AWS Bedrock and MongoDB Atlas.
The Rome MUG, organized by Cesare, provided insights into migrating from relational databases to MongoDB. Speakers Giancarlo and Fabio discussed challenges, solutions, and best practices for ensuring data consistency and optimizing performance. The interactive sessions encouraged engaging discussions on the future of database technologies and the evolving role of NoSQL.
Finally, the Pune MUG, in collaboration with the HashiCorp User Group in Pune, hosted an exciting year-end meetup on December 28. The event featured sessions by Nilesh on MongoDB Atlas Vector Search and Vishal on Leveraging HashiCorp Tools for Efficient MongoDB Deployments, along with quizzes and networking opportunities. A big thank you to Vishal, Faizan, and the organizing team for wrapping up the year with an enriching experience for the Pune tech community!
