About License Restriction

I want to use MongoDB in a project with open source Apache License 2.0. Since MongoDB has an SSPL certificate, will there be any legal problems if I use MongoDB in an open source project with Apache License 2.0?

Hi @Ilayda_Dastan and welcome to the community forum.

You asked about using MongoDB in an open source project with Apache License 2.0. According to the SSPL FAQs, you won’t encounter legal issues if you’re using MongoDB in a standard software application.

However, if you plan to offer MongoDB’s functionality as a service to others, there are copyleft conditions under Section 13 of the SSPL to consider.

Feel free to ask if you have more questions!
