Does MongoDB Developer associate exams include questions from Sharding or replication ? I didn’t find them in the Certification Program Guide .

Hello. The Developer exam does not but the Database Administrator exam does. You can see the topics in the study guide here.

Does the exam include geoqueries and text search .It is also not given in the study guide.

The exam does not reference geoqueries. Text search queries are referenced in a couple of our exam questions about Atlas Search. I hope this helps!

Identify the set of value types MongoDB BSON supports.

For the exam, The value types are Double,String, Object, Array, Binary Data, ObjectId, Boolean, Date, Null, Regex, Javascript, 32 Bit Integer, Timestamp, 64-bit-integer, Decimal128, MinKey and Max Key.

Is this right.?
2. 5.1 Given a scenario to load Atlas Sample Dataset and then use Data Explorer to use it to find a given first document in a collection
So I should open Atlas, load data and find document or is there anything else for the exam?

How you acquire the information is really up to you. You can read about it on our docs site, you can spin up a cluster and try it out or you can go through our learning path and participate in the labs.

Is the learning path alone enough to pass the test? I did look over the documentation too.

Also, here is the target candidate description which is important to review before determining if you should take the exam:

Candidate Description: A developer using MongoDB with their application must possess the knowledge and skills necessary to utilize the database effectively. This means that they must have hands-on experience completing day-to-day operational tasks needed to use MongoDB. At a minimum, it’s recommended that the candidate has:

  • Software engineering experience (any programming language)
  • Successfully completed MongoDB training (or equivalent hands on experience using MongoDB as the backing database for an application)
