I’m experiencing difficulties connecting Power BI to my MongoDB database hosted on AWS. The MongoDB Power BI connector is designed exclusively for MongoDB Atlas and doesn’t support self-hosted instances. Attempts to use the MongoDB Atlas ODBC driver and the Devart ODBC driver for MongoDB have been unsuccessful. Following the guide at Connecting MongoDB hosted in Mongo Atlas with PowerBI (including M0 clusters) | by Luis Mego | Qimi TechBlog | Medium, I configured the MongoDB ODBC connector, but it becomes unresponsive during testing or connection attempts. While the Progress DataDirect driver functions correctly, its cost is prohibitive. I’m seeking expert advice on alternative solutions. Thank you.
hello @Abdul_Rehman9 welcome to the community. Currently, the Atlas SQL Interface and its components (Atlas SQL JDBC, ODBC, Power BI Connector, and Tableau Connector) only support connecting to Atlas. We are working on a SQL Interface version that supports on-premise MongoDB clusters. We expect that to be released next year (first part of the year).
In the meantime, we have our on-premise BI Connector that can be used with Power BI. This is licensed for EA customers.
