Beware of MongoDB impersonators offering job opportunities

Fraudulent job offers are circulating claiming to be from MongoDB. We never charge fees in our recruitment process. Stay vigilant against scams.

MongoDB has been informed of a pattern of fraudulent job offers from agencies and individuals who pretend to be associated with MongoDB, but are not. Specifically, some individuals have been targeted via email, WhatsApp, and other messaging platforms, falsely offering work with MongoDB and requesting payments for training, equipment, travel, product reviews, or other false expenses.

How can I tell if an offer of employment is genuine?

If you’ve received an offer of employment from MongoDB, your official offer letter and all other related documents will only come directly from a MongoDB recruiter using an @mongodb.com email address.

Fraudulent emails are often sent from free, web-based email accounts (e.g., Gmail.com, Yahoo.com, Outlook.com) rather than from an official @mongodb.com address from the mongodb.com domain. Messages may appear to be from a MongoDB executive or recruiter, but if the domain is not @mongodb.com, it is not legitimate. Fraudsters can also frequently ask to connect via WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, or other unofficial messaging services. Communications often create urgency and pressure you to act quickly.

How can I protect myself?

Never pay or transfer money to secure a role with or perform work for MongoDB.

Do not engage with individuals claiming to represent MongoDB who ask for money from you.

Be cautious when sharing personal information online to protect yourself from identity theft or other risks.
