THE CHALLENGE
Advancing embedded AI capabilities
Over 800 million monthly active users rely on Adobe products, including Adobe Creative Cloud, a comprehensive suite of software addressing use cases from image and video editing to web design and PDF management. As generative and agentic AI capabilities evolve, Adobe builds and integrates new tools into its software to boost user productivity.
“We want users to be more creative by using AI not as a separate tool or layer, but embedded within the product itself,” said Muktesh Mishra, lead AI engineer and architect at Adobe, on the Newcomer podcast with Eric Newcomer at MongoDB .local San Francisco. Mishra works on the Developer Foundations team, which focuses on helping Adobe engineers to build AI applications. These tools require a comprehensive, AI-ready data platform to operate efficiently within Adobe’s existing products without workflow interruption.
OUR SOLUTION
Supporting AI tools with a unified data layer
Adobe uses MongoDB for its all-in-one data layer, underpinning Adobe’s continued development of embedded AI tools. When users perform AI-powered tasks—such as chatting with PDFs in Adobe Acrobat—these tools can retrieve and use the necessary data in minimal time and with full reliability.
